Education and Experience
In addition to providing services as a professional counselor and marriage and family therapist in private practice in the states of Georgia and Tennessee, I have employment experience as a mental health professional in a behavioral health services facility (GA), a college (TN), a pastoral counseling and education center (TX), a comprehensive inpatient treatment unit (NY), a geriatric partial hospitalization program (TN), a federal correctional institution (NY) and an outpatient mental health facility (TN). I received my BS degree from James Madison University with a dual major in Education for the Emotionally Disturbed and Elementary Education and my MS degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in Counseling and Guidance. I also completed the course work, practica and internship for the PhD in Clinical Psychology from Walden University. Representative treatment modalities integrated in the counseling of couples, individuals and families include cognitive and dialectical behavioral and solution focused therapies, emotional and behavioral regulation, 'mindfulness', stress and anger management and a synthesis of interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory.
